Jolene Ollewagen
Whilst in her third year of studying Bcom at the University of Johannesburg, Jolene started teaching at an IEB school in the south of Johannesburg. She taught Grade 10-12 Business Studies and Accountancy as well as Grade 8-9 Mathematics and EMS. After two years of teaching, and having marked and compiled Matric exams and portfolios, she felt the need to explore new avenues. Jolene joined Johannesburg School of Finance at the beginning of 2011 to help develop and present Banango Traders the School’s business simulation game which inspired her to look at different teaching methods that bring both fun and excitement to the classroom, moving away from the sometime dreaded routine. Her mission is to inspire young adults to look beyond the obvious, and to give them the courage and knowledge they need to start their own business.
In 2011 Jolene completed the SANEF national equestrian instructors plan for Module 1, and intends on completing further modules in 2012 in order to use education using different methods, for children with all learning abilities and capabilities.
Jolene is based in Johannesburg and conducts entrepreneurial training country wide for both primary and high school learners in the following areas: EMS, Accountancy, Business Studies, Maths Literacy and Life Orientation.
